2023 ABC News Storytellers Summit | Application Deadline: thursday, July 13, 2023

The 2023 ABC News Storytellers Summit is a half-day development workshop created by ABC News and the ABC Owned Television Stations designed to bring producers, writers, reporters and content creators together for a series of cutting-edge conversations and training sessions to take their storytelling to the next level. This summit is led by ABC News journalists and executives from across all of our platforms and shows. Participants will walk away with first-hand knowledge around the skills that make ABC News the number one source for news and innovative ways to enhance their storytelling.

2023 ESPN Sports Media Summit at AAJA | Application Deadline: FRIday, July 14, 2023

The ESPN Sports Media Summit is a dynamic learning experience that will give its participants first-hand exposure to behind-the-scenes skills and experiences essential in today’s sports media industry. During these sessions, participants learn from award-winning writers, editors, producers, content creators, storytellers, and on-air talent at ESPN. These sessions will provide a strategic and practical understanding of new concepts and methods, industry trends, and challenges shaping the sports media industry. Join us for an experience you don't want to miss!

Please note that the summit will be in-person at AAJA in Washington DC on Wednesday July 19th from 10am-4:45pm ET.

NBCUniversal x AAJA Emerging Producers Fellowship | APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, June 19, 2023

NBCUniversal and AAJA are looking to sponsor two producers to attend the 2023 AAJA Convention July 19th to July 23rd at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. The Emerging Producers Fellowship is an opportunity for those interested in continuing their television producing career. Please apply by June 19th.

NBCUniversal + AAJA will arrange and cover the cost of your conference registration fee, flights and hotel stay for AAJA. If you have already purchased your flight & hotel for the conference, we will reimburse you up to the cost equivalent dollar amount once we receive relevant receipts. We reserve the right to ask for further documentation or details before approving the expense. Expenses should always be reasonable and kept to the minimum amount necessary. We will not be able to reimburse you for airline/hotel/credit card points used to book travel or accommodations or to reimburse a gift purchased for a friend, family member, or other individual who houses you while you are traveling to the conference. NBCUniversal will not cover any associated expenses outside of the conference registration fee, flights, and hotel (not including incidental charges) accrued during your stay. To take advantage of this opportunity, applicants must either:

  • already be a member of AAJA, or

  • be willing to become one and have at least two years of producing experience.

 

CNN Producers and reporters workshops

Are you in news production and looking to step up your game?

For over 10 years, CNN’s journalism workshop has been the industry standard. This year we’re in Washington, DC hosting the most creative & engaging reporters at the AAJA Conference. Senior managers, on-air coaches, CNN correspondents and anchors will teach and challenge attendees on what it takes to make it to the network.

During this full-day workshop, reporters will build skills and apply practical techniques.

All applicants must be an active AAJA member and registered to attend the 2023 conference.
